Well, in this instance, it's your farmer's friend, as Baby G's Goat Milk Soaps now also partners with a local farming couple in Montague for the goat's milk in their products. Their body butters and lotions contain 80% goat milk, and are made from all natural ingredients.
Baby G was the little goat that started it all in 2013, a sweet, spoiled little goat girl who took care of the lawn in Anna Christie's Yreka back yard. They eventually bred her, and she produced so much milk the family couldn't use it all. Thus began a hobby, which eventually turned into a small side business. Recently, that changed too.
"I just quit my 'job job' recently," Anna told us, "and this is now my full-time business."
Currently, Baby G products are sold in the Mount Shasta, Medford and Ashland farmers' markets ("Mount Shasta is my FAVORITE," she told us, more than once, and we thank her!), and she'll be returning for her fourth year in our market next spring. Her products are also sold in several locales in northern California and southern Oregon, with more to come as the business grows, grows, and continues to grow. In 2016, she was the 1st Place winner of the National American Dairy Goat Association Bath and Body Competition. As her products gain even more popularity, she's looking to develop relationships with more local goat farmers (if that's you, you can find out more about that on her website at https://babygsoaps.com).
Anna Christie's entrepreneurial spirit, combined with her care and concern for people and planet, have produced a successful local small business of lovely, all-natural products. All smell amazing, contain pure, fresh goat's milk and are made with her own original recipes. Her 10 year old daughter is now getting in on the action, too - she makes bath bombs, mixing everything together and shaping them into fun shapes with jello molds, and has her own label, "Lotty Bombs." Anna says "she has her own savings account and earns her own money that way while getting to be creative".
You can get Lotty's bath bombs alongside her mom's Baby G products for the final weeks of our 2017 market - you still have time to join the "blue bottle mission" and fill up on a good winter supply. Nothing like goat's milk lotion for our dry, winter months!
In case you're still not sure what the "blue bottle mission" is, this year Anna started a refill station. You can purchase a blue glass bottle from her, and refill products as needed for a discounted price. We love this concept!
Thanks, Anna, it's always a pleasure!
